Our assignment for today was to watch all 6 "Everybody has a story" videos, and then analyze 2 of them. I decided to take a specific look on The Middle School Football video, as well as the Boy Seeks Smile video. Both videos were very moving, and the stories were very heartfelt. More specifically, the middle school football story was significant because it was focused on a middle school football team in Olivet Michigan that had a play cooking (Hey). This team was scheming a 2 part play, one that would change the life for a special kid at their school. The first part of the play was to get as close to the goal line as possible without scoring-and the crowd was not pleased. However, there was a greater priority with this tactic, as the middle school team was saving the touchdown for their fellow peer, Keith, who has a learning disability and snuggles with boundaries (You). The team made a human shield around Kieth, and protected him while he ran over the touchdown line, and scored for his first time (See). This play was particularly important because it made Kieth feel loved and happy. This also affected not only Kieth, but his fellow teammates who went from eating about only himself, to caring about everyone and "making everyones day and everyones life" (So)
The Boy Seeks Smile story emitted an emotion because it revolved around 6 year old orphan, Jayden Hayes in Savannah Georgia, who lost both his parents at a young age (Hey). His story is so heartfelt because his plan after his parents died was to stop the sadness within the world. He wanted to make people smile. (You) Jayden carried out this plan by asking his aunt to buy a bunch of little toys, so he could hand them out to strangers in the middle of their town. These everyday people were struck, and overwhelmed with the thought of this little orphan who went about his day handing out gifts to make them smile. Some even started to cry. (See) After the death of his parents, Jayden expressed sheer joy when giving back to others, and the more people her made smile, the more this light came through. (So)
